Modding Exploits of Richard 'DarthBeavis' Surroz

Nvidia charity build

Time to get the Nvidia/Intel/Crucial/Danger Den/Silverstone/Performance PCs/Smooth Creations/Out of the Box Mods charity build completed. It will be auctioned off with proceeds going for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. MUST have the build done by the end of the weekend.
My buddy, Paul, from Nvidia asked me months ago if I would do a mod for a charity (the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society). How could I say no. At the time we both thought it would just be a modest build and might raise a little money for a good cause. Well, things sort of went beyond what we thought with all sorts of vendors helping out. Here is a list:
Nvidia: Single PCB 295 GPU (I will have to ask who the AIB was), 3d Stereo glasses kit, Samsung 22″ 3d Stereo monitor (thanks to Samsung as well)
Danger Den: Double-wide Tower case, full water-cooling including two Black Ice SR1 360 rads, pump, GPU block with custom green top, MC-TDX block with custom green top
Intel: 975 Extreme Edition Proc
Crucial: Two 256 gig SSDs and 12 gigs Green DDR3 Ballistix Tracer ram
Asus: Rampage II Gene mobo
Silverstone: Strider 1 K PSU
Performance PCs: ALL the accessories and custom sleeving services
Smooth Creations: One killer paint job on case, rads, psu

  1. Hey I’m a struggling IT, unemployed, and a amateur builder. I’ve built a few custom pc’s, cheap, mostly just took apart every electronic I’ve ever owned to see how it works. Factory comps are alll I have ever been able to afford most of the time I get hand me downs from family. so I could never overclock anything or reaylly get into tweaking a system other than formatting and putting clean installations of the lates OS available, maxing memory (if I’m lucky) and adding old HDD’s I have lying around for more space. Right now I’m finishing painting and re-vamping my 5 year old custom case. I bought some really nice blue sparkly paint and it’s going slow.. I don’t have time or money to finish it at the moment.

But I wanted to say I absolutely love your website and everything you have done, it’s just amazing. Especially the charity for leukemia & hodgkins live in Columbus, Ohio near the Columbus Zoo.

  2. Especially the charity for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. My brother died at the age of 14 and he had non hodgkins lymphoma that was mis-diagnosed and it turned into leukemia. So this particular project really touches me emotionally and it inspires me. But I live in Columbus, Ohio (born and raised) near the Columbus Zoo. I don’t know if you have any resources here but I would be more then happy to chat or exchange design ideas and discuss the specs of hardware for builds. I would be honered to have you as a e-friend/reference. I always have a ton of great customizing ideas and my dream is to open a shop building custom computers. There aren’t too many custom PC shops or atleast none that are worth anything that I know of in columbus and surrounding areas. Could be a great opportunity to turn a profit.

But I’m sure you are a very busy individual so I won’t be dissapointed if you don’t reply or contact me. Just wanted to say hey from Ohio and keep up the good work! I wish I had a computer that could get more than 20 fps in orgrimmar with video settings on low lol. Thank you for everything, all of your builds and pictures will surely help me in my ventures 🙂

Thanx for taking the time to document your progress and for your charitable donations. And for reading this. I have so much more to say but not enough time, I have to go cook breakfast for my girlfriend, mom, step dad and myself before I can get to work. I bid you farewell sir and hope to converse in the near future.
